With longer days to squeeze in an extra bike ride and farmers’ markets overflowing with fresh produce, summer is the perfect season to reset your family’s healthy habits. Read on for creative ways to eat better as well as summer reading suggestions to get you a jump-start on healthy planning for the upcoming school year.

Get healthy and active

Make the most of the summer sunshine and abundance of fruits and veggies to increase your daily physical activity and improve your diet. Some ideas:

  • Try a new fun activity like a sunset hike, yoga class or bike ride through the park.
  • Drink more water to stay cool and feel great. Invest in a reusable water bottle to help you get the recommended 8-10 daily glasses.
  • Diversify your diet. Visit a farmers market to see what’s in season, and try one new fruit or veggie each week. You may discover a few new favorites!
