H1N1 Prevention and Vaccination:  

According to the CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), vaccination is the best protection against contracting the flu.  Because H1N1 is a new virus, it was not included in the 2008-2009 flu vaccine.  Therefore, you’ll need to receive two vaccines to be fully protected this year: the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine and the 2009 Seasonal flu vaccine.  The CDC urges all individuals to get both vaccinations as soon as possible.

Additional, and equally important, methods of prevention include routine hand washing or use of an alcohol based sanitizer, proper sneeze and cough etiquette, and social distancing.  To learn more about methods of prevention and the flu vaccines, please click here:
