Travel Information Summary

Hotel
NEA HIN has negotiated a reduced rate for conference attendees at the Wyndham Washington (1400 M Street, NW) for the nights of May 31, June 1 and June 2. The negotiated rate is $155/night for single or double occupancy (one or two beds). To receive the reduced rate, be sure to mention that you are with the “NEA Crisis Response Conference”. Reservations must be made by Sunday, May 15 in order to receive this rate (attendees will be charged $249/night or more after May 15). Attendees are responsible for making all hotel reservations and may do so by calling the Wyndham Washington at (202) 429-1700.
The McPherson Square Metro Station is located just 3-1/2 blocks from the hotel, and the Farragut North Station is just four blocks north. You can visit the hotel website for directions, maps, or other information.
Air Travel to Washington, DC
Attendees are responsible for making all airline reservations. There are three airports to consider when booking flights: Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport. While National Airport is located just across the river from Washington, airfares to BWI and Dulles are often considerably lower than fares to National.
Alternate Travel Options
Train: Amtrak rail service is available to Washington, DC from certain locations. Most trains run right to Union Station in Washington, DC.
Personal Vehicle: Parking at the Wyndham Washington per night is valet only. The garage cannot house SUVs or oversize vehicles. The day rate is $12 from 7am-10pm.
Ground Transportation to/from the Airport and Parking
Approximate taxi fares from area airports to downtown Washington are as follows: $12 from National; $50 from Dulles; $60 from BWI. Economical shuttle service is also available from area airports to downtown Washington.
To take the Metro from Reagan National Airport, follow the “Metro” signs at the airport and take the blue line. The Wyndham Washington is located 3-1/2 blocks from the McPherson Square stop. Metro costs vary depending on whether you travel during rush hour or non-rush hour. NOTE: You may also take the yellow line on the Metro, but you must change trains at Pentagon. You can visit www.wmata.com to plan out your exact route.
Transportation from Wyndham Washington to NEA Headquarters
NEA Headquarters is located at 1201 16th St., NW, in Washington, DC. NEA Headquarters is located less than one block from the Wyndham Washington Hotel. After exiting the hotel, turn left onto M Street. After you cross over 15th Street, continue straight and turn right onto 16th Street. NEA (located on the corner of 16th and M Street) will be on your right. Once you enter the building go the Guard’s Desk and tell them you are here for the “NEA Crisis Response Conference”. They will issue you a temporary badge and direct you to the News Conference Room.

Attendees are responsible for all meals not provided by NEA. The following meals will be provided by NEA.
