September 11 Help
A Few Words from Bob
Chase President, National Education Association
The national response in
Americas classrooms to the destruction and loss from terrorist attacks
on the U.S. has been nothing short of magnificent. The lessons imparted in
classrooms about respect, unity, and the value of life will have a profound
effect on the health and healing of todays students and tomorrows
citizens.
This site contains a wealth
of resources for uniting behind children in the wake of Sept. 11. In the
wide-eyed questions of a child stirs a hope and resilience just waiting for
direction and nourishment. As adults, we can provide the comfort and understanding
children need to cope and make sense of their questions.
