A Few Words from Bob Chase – President, National Education Association

The national response in America’s classrooms to the destruction and loss from terrorist attacks on the U.S. has been nothing short of magnificent. The lessons imparted in classrooms about respect, unity, and the value of life will have a profound effect on the health and healing of today’s students and tomorrow’s citizens.

This site contains a wealth of resources for uniting behind children in the wake of Sept. 11. In the wide-eyed questions of a child stirs a hope and resilience just waiting for direction and nourishment. As adults, we can provide the comfort and understanding children need to cope and make sense of their questions.
