George Guido is the Executive Director of Alliance Development & Stakeholder Relations in the Corporate Affairs Division of AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, LP.
Mr. Guido is responsible for overseeing US alliance building and charitable contributions at the community, state and national levels. He has been with AstraZeneca since 2004, originally joining the company in its Washington, DC office, as the Director of Federal Alliances responsible for leading and developing strategic alliances with national patient, professional and other health-related organizations. He currently serves as a member of the AstraZeneca Corporate Affairs Leadership Team.
Mr. Guido has nearly 25 years experience in alliance development. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, he was Director of Worldwide Constituency Relations at Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations/public affairs firm. During his 10 years at Burson, he represented a broad range of clients and successfully created and implemented national and global stakeholder outreach programs to help address issues, raise brand awareness and provide a forum to communicate messages to key constituencies, the media and the public. He also spent 8 years working in community-based and national non-profit organizations.
Mr. Guido currently represents AstraZeneca as Chair of the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufactures Association (PhRMA) Alliance Section, Trustee for the Pharmaceutical Industry Labor Management Association (PILMA), Board President of the National Education Association’s (NEA) Health Information Network, and Board Member of the National Health Council, The United Way of Delaware, and the Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation.
