NEA HIN Job Posting: Consultant, Social Media

NEA Health Information Network (NEA HIN) seeks an experienced Social Media Consultant to lead the development and implementation of a new social media strategy, with the goal of increasing awareness of the Bag the Junk campaign among the school community and increasing web traffic and engagement in the website and social media platforms.

CONTRACT PERIOD: April 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013

SCOPE OF WORK:

  • In consultation with Bag the Junk (BtJ) Project Staff, devise a social media strategy to help accomplish BtJ’s stated goals and lead the implementation of that plan.
  • Manage BtJ social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media platforms.
  • Become an advocate of BtJ in social media spaces, including seeding content into social applications and encouraging dialogue among the community where appropriate.
  • Maintain and update select sections of the BtJ website (i.e. “In the News” section).
  • Write compelling, timely content for the BtJ blog.
  • Track and incorporate developing trends and best practices into BtJ online work.
  • Establish and maintain a system for tracking social media analytics.
  • Ensure that the overall messaging of BtJ and the development of analytics is coordinated with NEA HIN protocols.
  • Communicate regularly with BtJ Project Staff (phone, email, and skype are acceptable alternatives to regular in-person meetings).
  • Willingness and ability to take on broader projects related to the organization’s mission, under additional contracts, as needed.
  • Possess a collaborative attitude and a willingness to work on a team.
  • At the end of the contract period, there will be increased awareness of the Bag the Junk campaign, as documented by increased web traffic to and within BagtheJunk.org and increased engagement on social media platforms.

Notice of Consultant as Independent Contractor: Both NEA HIN and Consultant intend and agree that Consultant will act as an independent contractor.  NEA HIN is interested only in the results achieved by the services of the Consultant; the manner of legally achieving those results is the responsibility of the Consultant.  The Consultant is neither an agent nor employee of NEA HIN, and shall not be treated as such for any purpose.  All materials produced as a result of this contract by the Consultant will constitute “work made for hire” pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 101 (2), and NEA HIN will possess the entire copyright, title, and interest in all such materials.
