Bethe Almeras is the Associate Director at NEA HIN. A vital part of HIN strategy and leadership, Bethe is also the head of programs and communications for the organization. Almeras is an award-winning author, web producer, and eLearning designer. A gifted speaker and trainer, Bethe is also very active in social media across multiple platforms. She is a passionate advocate for healthy children and active, playful childhoods.
Before joining NEA HIN in 2013, Bethe was the Director of Head Start Body Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play and the Senior Manager of Family and Educator Programs for the National Wildlife Federation. She earned her B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University and her M.S. from Indiana University.
Bethe lives along the Potomac Channel in Washington, D.C. and is an avid nature lover who enjoys being outside every chance she can get. She also is an adoptions volunteer with the Washington Humane Society where she puts her love of animals to good use.
