Cynthia Montague

Executive Assistant

Cynthia reports directly to the Executive Director of the NEA Health Information Network. She schedules the Executive Director’s day-to-day calendar, makes his travel arrangements, prepares materials for conferences, and is liaison between the Executive Director and clients, partners, the NEA HIN Board of Directors, and the NEA Education Association affiliates. Cynthia also reports to the Principal Development Manager, assisting with her travel and other day-to-day tasks, and performs office management duties for the overall office.

What she enjoys most about her work at NEA HIN is its versatility, and the insight she gains from its focus on education and health.

After graduating from Spingarn High School in Washington, D.C., Cynthia has worked in administration for various businesses. While her career has focused primarily on administrative duties, in more recent years she’s gained experience in the logistics and planning of meetings and conferences.

Before joining NEA HIN in 2008, Cynthia assisted with meeting planning at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) in Georgetown. At AIR, a health and education research organization, she planned and coordinated local and national conferences for the Board of Education. Prior to working at AIR, Cynthia was Assistant to the Executive Director at B’nai B’rith Women, now Jewish Women International, an 8 million membership organization focusing on domestic violence in the Jewish community. Before that, she worked for the Mark Vogel Real Estate Developer as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Development. As part of her job, Cynthia participated in many fundraisers.

Cynthia spends a lot of her free time volunteering for those less fortunate, which helps keep her heart and mind healthy. She also stays healthy by drinking lots of water, keeping active with walking, walking and more walking, and staying on top of her annual physicals.
