Nora L. Howley

Manager of Programs

Nora oversees the many and varied programs and activities that NEA HIN undertakes. She believes that a great public school is one where students and staff are healthy and safe, and she’s gratified that her job allows her to help make healthier, safer schools a reality.

Nora is an educator who started her career as a pre-school teacher, and has taught students as young as two and as old as 85. She also served as the Director of the School Health Project at the Council of Chief State School Officers, and as interim Executive Director at Action for Healthy Kids. After a year of consulting work, Nora joined the staff of NEA HIN full time in January of 2009.

Nora earned a Bachelor of Science in Early and Elementary Education at Wheelock College, and a Masters in Health Education from the University of Maryland College Park.

She stays healthy by walking as much as she can.
