Educators Raise Their Hands to Support Healthy School Foods

HUGE thanks to the hundreds of educators and friends who stopped by the Bag the Junk booth at the National Education Association’s 2013 Expo in Atlanta, Georgia, July 1-2!

We were thrilled with how the booth design turned out (see photo at right), and judging by the over 1,000 educators who stopped by our booth, we think you were thrilled too. Over the two-day expo we heard from so many educators who support healthier school foods and are interested in taking a stand to do something about it.

To help visitors take action we had an array of free resources available– including our newest Simple Steps to Support Healthy School Foods flyer —and our very popular Bag the Junk-branded peach and broccoli bendy pens. We also debuted the newest member of the Bag the Junk team, “Captain” the human-sized carrot cutout! Captain was a hit with visitors; see for yourself by checking out the photos on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BagTheJunk.

If you missed us at the Expo, there’s still one more chance to get in on the excitement. This week we’re launching two $100 grocery store gift card giveaways on social media. To enter, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook, then follow the instructions on our pages to complete your entry. Good luck!
