The Cat’s Out of the Bag!
I have a confession to make: We’ve been working on a Top Secret Project over here at NEA HIN.
Well, maybe not so top secret, because we have been dropping hints on social media over the past month or two — a breadcrumb here, a tweet there. And if you are very observant, you may have even noticed a teaser ad in a recent issue of NEA Today. OK, and truth be told we announced it at the NEA Education Support Professional (ESP) Conference in March, but other than that it has been completely top secret.
On May 11th – yes, in 11 short days – NEA HIN will become NEA Healthy Futures!
After 28 years of serving NEA members and the education community at large as NEA HIN, it’s time for a change. And not just the name…
Just how and why, you ask? For the answer to that question and more, you’ll have to come to the new site to read the story and to see how the (healthy) future unfolds!
I can tell you a few things, however:
- This didn’t happen overnight; it’s something we have thought long and hard about and put a lot of research, planning and work into.
- Our new website is user-friendly, vibrant and will be the go-to resource for your health, safety and school employee wellness needs. Starting on May 11th, the new URL will be neahealthyfutures.org, but don’t worry if you forget – this site will redirect you.
- We want to hear from you! Join the conversation across social media, comment on blogs, send in questions or comments and let us know what health and wellness issues are the top concerns for you and your school community.
- We truly believe that is takes ALL of us – communities, families, local and state associations, schools and districts, NEA and NEA Healthy Futures, and every member of the school staff – ESPs, SISPs, teachers, administrators — to create healthy school environments where students and educators thrive.
So whether you have been with us for a few months, a few years or a few decades, thanks for your support of NEA HIN. We cannot wait for you to meet the “new us” and to be part of the fabric of NEA Healthy Futures. Don’t forget to stop by May 11th!
