Privacy is something we’re taught at very young age usually by a parent or even a teacher.  While the conversation of privacy may have changed over the years, the principles are still the same.  Maintaining privacy online is especially important because of how viral the Internet can be.  Here are a few tips to remember:

      • Be cautious about how much personal information you share on personal websites and social networking sites

      • Install spyware on your personal computer to protect against spammers
      • Avoid entering personal information on public computers

When children post personal or inappropriate information online, they run the risk of having it spread throughout their schools, communities, or even worldwide.  Even as adults we must be cautious about how much information we enter online and ensure that proper privacy settings are set on our computers.
