Program
Goals
In California,
Latinos comprise one-third of the total population and over 40%
of the student population. In the Latino community, there is a huge
need for improved parental communication around health and sexuality
issues, yet there is still a shortage of programs and resources
designed specifically for this population. By introducing ¿Conversamos?
into Spanish-speaking communities throughout California, NEA HIN
and CTA hope to help bridge this gap.
Funding
The initial
program activities in California are being funded by NEA HIN and
a Cooperative Agreement between NEA HIN and the Center’s for
Disease Control’s Business and Labor Responds to AIDS Program.
