Can We Talk?

Step
6:
Help Can We Talk? Grow
< step 5 | Getting Started
>

After the Training
Institute, your community will have a pool of people ready to get
parent workshops up and running. It will be important to harness
that energy and help attendees keep in touch with one another.

Be sure to do
the following things in order to build momentum in your community
and keep track of the program:

  • Create a
list with the names, addresses, phone numbers and email of all
Training Institute attendees and a list of potential sites where
Can We Talk? will take place. Share that list with all
    attendees.
  • Send a copy
of the attendee contact list to NEA HIN to assist us in tracking
the growth of the National Campaign and to add those workshop
    facilitators to our database.
  • Ask all the
attendees to let you know when they contact sites, make presentations
and/or schedule workshops. Create a central calendar of parent
workshops. This will help coordinate activities and avoid duplication
    of services.
  • Provide assistance
    in marketing the workshops.
  • Ask the workshop
facilitators to collect the pre- and post-workshop surveys and
send them to you for analysis.
  • If possible,
set up a system to provide monthly updates on the workshops and
related events, either via email or a print newsletter.

You can always
call us at NEA HIN to answer additional questions and provide assistance.
We are here to help nurture Can We Talk? and help you develop
one of the most innovative parent programs in the nation.
