Schools: Making Schools Safe for Gay and Lesbian Students
This 28 minute video from the Massachusetts Department of Education, in
conjunction with the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, provides
an introduction to the Safe Schools Program for Gay and Lesbian Students
at the Department of Education and its purpose, goals and activities since
its 1993 inception. The video is free to all Massachusetts schools and in-state

The
Child and Adolescent Trial for Cardiovascular Health (CATCH)
This program was developed with grants from the National Heart, Lung, and
Blood Institute and is the largest school-based health promotion study ever
done. Materials target grades 3-5 and involve physical education, the classroom,
the home, and the school cafeteria. The materials include CATCH Physical
Education, Heart Health Classroom Curricula For Grades 3, 4, and 5, and

On The Road to Healthy Living
This bilingual curriculum on HIV/AIDS prevention is specifically designed
for Latino migrant students in grades 6 to 12. Produced by Villarreal Analytical
Management and Organization Services (Vamos) and National Coalition of Advocates
for Students (NCAS), Viviremos states three goals: provide education about
HIV that is culturally and linguistically specific to migrant students;
encourage farmworker teens to delay sexual intercourse; and, ensure that
sexually active teens use condoms consistently and correctly. The cost is
