NEA
HIN and the CDC’s Office on
Smoking and Health developed MediaSharp to provide young people
with the skills necessary for critically analyzing media messages,
specifically on alcohol and tobacco. In that effort NEA HIN worked
with NEA State Presidents in six states to identify educators to
participate in a one-time training to look at models for the implementation
of the program in classrooms and to disseminate the MediaSharp materials.
Members are currently engaged in activities related to both classroom
implementation and dissemination.
