our background and expertise in education, health, and safety provides us with a unique and reliable perspective on the needs of educators. nea hin offers effective and easy to use resources for educators who have health and safety concerns and little time or resources to devote to them. nea hin is responsible for putting together some of the most effective health and safety tools, including the redbook , the custodian guide, and our stress resiliency manual.

Education

nea hin has over 20 years of experience creating education campaigns that have influenced public education from sexually transmitted diseases, to school and community safety, to childhood obesity. nea hin employs education campaigns built on a “facts not fear” approach to provide the highest quality information directly to the public education and health communities. these include publications such as can we talk and our hpv brochure, talking about cervical cancer prevention, which empower users to make the most educated decisions to stay healthier and safer.

Timely Response to Emerging Issues

The ability for nea hin to think through, analyze, and react to a situation is crucial to effectively providing accurate, rapid, and the highest quality information possible. since the inception of the nea hin, the health and safety arm of the nea has effectively disseminated information to our audience that has been paramount to solving complex health and safety issues. in 2008, nea hin released its updated version of the school crisis guide that remains evergreen and adaptable to new crisis scenarios. the nea hin mrsa fact sheet was made available to educators immediately as the outbreak occurred.

Training and Symposiums

our most powerful resource is education and awareness. nea hin’s goal is to disseminate information through trainings so that our audience is empowered to act on the lessons they have learned. through trainings, seminars, and symposiums, our audiences leave sessions with the ability to make and effect decisions that lead to healthier and safer choices in public education. symposiums like the nea hin and epa tools for schools indoor air quality symposium and the school crisis response and training provide the audience with tools and resources they need to create their own school safety committees in their own communities. after tornadoes devastated enterprise, alabama, hin was there to aid in the recovery process and help the transition back to normalcy.
