Julie Abrera is the Director of the School NutritionFoundation (SNF), the foundation for the School Nutrition Association. She has been at SNF since 2007. Prior to SNF, Julie spent 10 years doingdevelopment and fundraising for housing related nonprofits. Her arrival in school nutrition comes via along family tree of educators and her interest in food from fond memories ofeating perfect tomatoes straight from the garden. Her teaching experience comes not from theclassroom but from teaching tennis to 7 to 70 year olds.
She has an undergraduate degree from JamesMadison University and a graduate degree in nonprofit management from Carnegie MellonUniversity.
