Annelise Cohon

Senior Program Coordinator

Annelise works on NEA HIN’s Physical Health and Wellness programs around hunger and nutrition. Currently, she is the lead on NEA HIN’s Breakfast in the Classroom Project and supports educators to advocate for and implement alternative breakfast models in their school district. She is passionate about empowering teachers, educational support professionals, staff, and students to improve the health and safety of their schools.

Before joining NEA HIN in February of 2010, Annelise worked for Best Buddies, an international nonprofit that provides social integration opportunities for individuals with disabilities through jobs and friendships. She also recently finished a one-year fellowship in Haifa, Israel, focusing on Peace and Conflict Studies.

Annelise attended Scripps College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Gender Studies. She also studied in Israel and Italy.

She stays healthy by running around D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, biking, and “eating all the fruits and veggies she can get her hands on.”
