Jamila maintains the Internet safety site bnetsavvy.org, which is a trusted one-stop shop for information, tools, and links to high-quality resources that can help young teens stay safe online. Her work allows her to help NEA members who are grappling with issues like cyberbullying and safe social networking by providing them with useful resources to help them address their concerns.
Before joining NEA HIN in 2006, Jamila worked for the American Federation of Teachers as a paralegal in the general counsel’s office. She made the switch to NEA HIN to stay within the education field, but also to pursue her interest in health and safety issues.
Jamilla has a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University.
