Can We Talk?

Step
2:
Think About Coordination
< step1 | Getting Started
| step 3 >

Coordinating
Can We Talk? programming does not have to be complex, but
it does involve some thoughtful planning.

Ask yourself
the following questions:

  1. Who will
fund the Can We Talk? program?
  2. Who will
organize a Training of Trainers Institute?
  3. Who will
coordinate the marketing for the workshop series?
  4. Who will
    oversee the calendar of workshops?
  5. Who will
serve as a community spokesperson for Can We Talk?
  6. Will workshop
facilitators be paid? How will that process be administered?
  7. Will workshop
promoters be paid? How will that process be administered?
  8. How will
child care and food for the workshops be paid?
  9. Who will
keep a file for all attendance and evaluation data?

These questions
are important to answer to ensure that your Can We Talk?
program has adequate coordination. Experience around the country
shows that Can We Talk? initiatives are most successful when
there is a paid coordinator organizing the project from within a
community-based agency or school district.

We encourage
you to review the entire Can We Talk? training package before
you proceed with the next steps, and contact NEA HIN if you have
any questions.
