is Covering Kids?
The
Problem
There
are more than 8 million uninsured children in
America. These children are forced to go without
the regular doctor visits, immunizations and eye
exams they need to stay healthy. MOST of these
kids (from birth to age 19) are eligible for low-cost
and free health insurance through the State
Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)
and Medicaid, regardless of their health status.
In most states, children in families earning $36,000
or more may qualify for low-cost or free health
care coverage. Tragically, their parents do not
believe they qualify. But you can help. Learn

What
is Covering Kids?
Covering
Kids is a national initiative of The
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation working to
connect uninsured children to low-cost and free
health care coverage programs in all 50
states and the District of Columbia. Through
research-based
advertising and a public
education campaign, Covering Kids helps states
inform parents of eligible children about the
availability of SCHIP and Medicaid. Get Involved
